Work It Out - Part One

It sees like it has been forever since I talked about trying something new. Sure, sure, I've kept up my monthly challenges, but I should strive for more.

So here it is. The Work It Out Challenge: Sponsored by Grandma and Papa Conger. (Thanks!)

I'm going to purchase three training sessions with a personal trainer. Together I hope we can come up with a personalized work out.

The Newness Broken Down:
--> I have never worked with a trainer before and I'm excited to have an expert to help me develop a personalized work out.
--> I've never followed a training plan before. The closest I've ever come was my reintroduction to swimming last winter.

Does anyone have any advice about how to pick a trainer? Or how to make the best use of my training sessions? Is it a fopaux to talk to a trainer about nutrition?

I'll keep you updated on my progress and any unexpected new experiences as the project continues.

~Claire Out.

OOOOH exciting! I've always wanted to try a trainer for a kick start. I think you can totally ask about nutrition! That's a great idea, since personal trainers are often focused on whole-body wellbeing.

Have fun! :)

Pick a trainer at your gym who you've noticed and who seems friendly. You want to be comfortable. Totally ask about nutrition. As for making the most of it, be HONEST with them. Tell them what you have been doing, what your weaknesses are, where you'd like to strengthen, what your goals are, how much time you ACTUALLY have to work out, etc. Tell them you honestly only have the money for three sessions and that you need them to help you figure out a plan you can follow and grow with after the three sessions. That way they will truly help you in a way you can follow and make it long-lasting.

Hooray! Good luck!

I just can't tell you (but look here... I'm doing it anyway) how much I'm enjoying your blog. I just took a very brief class in blogging; so I decided to read the work of a Master. Have fun with your trainer.
